THU-MIT Urban Design Joint Studio Students' Works

This volume documents the outcomes of the THU-MIT Urban Design Joint Studio held between 2008 and 2014. It compiles over twenty outstanding students’ design studios that explored critical issues at the intersection of sustainable urbanism. The projects span diverse contexts, from the redevelopment of the Shougang industrial site—focusing on the creation of civic space to low-carbon urban initiatives in historic Jinan and Taiyuan. The collection highlights innovative pedagogical approaches to addressing complex urban challenges, offering valuable insights into sustainable urban regeneration strategies within rapidly changing Chinese cities.
